1. INTRODUCTION

A. & H. Meyer Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company", "we", "our" or "us"), a member of the French Legrand Group, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your Personal Data in accordance with the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 ("PDPA 2010"), as amended by the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024, and its subsidiary legislation.

For the purposes of the PDPA 2010, the Company is the data user in respect of your Personal Data. As a member of the Legrand Group, certain processing activities may also involve A. & H. Meyer GmbH and other companies within the Legrand Group, as further described in this Notice.

This Personal Data Protection Notice ("Notice") explains how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, store and otherwise process your Personal Data when you interact or engage with us, whether as a customer, prospective customer, supplier, vendor, contractor, consultant, business partner, visitor, employee, job applicant or in any other capacity.

By accessing or using our website, communicating, engaging or otherwise interacting with us, or providing your Personal Data to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Notice and, where required under the PDPA 2010, consent to the collection, use, disclosure, transfer and processing of your Personal Data in accordance with this Notice.

2. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

We may collect your Personal Data when you visit or interact with our website, whether directly from you or automatically through your use of our website and related technologies. Depending on the nature of your interaction with us, your Personal Data may be collected through various channels, including but not limited to:

  • information provided by you through application forms, registration forms, enquiries, correspondence, agreements, contracts or other documents;
  • communications with us via telephone, email, letters, messaging applications or other electronic or physical means;
  • meetings, business engagements, conferences, exhibitions, seminars, training sessions or other events organised by or involving A.H. Meyer;
  • your use of our website, online portals, social media platforms or other digital services;
  • recruitment processes, including applications submitted directly by you or through recruitment agencies, employment platforms or other recruitment channels;
  • your employer, authorised representatives or referees, where relevant to our relationship with you;
  • entities within the Legrand Group;
  • our customers, suppliers, contractors, consultants, business partners and service providers;
  • publicly available sources or publicly accessible registers, where permitted by law; and
  • any other lawful sources in accordance with the PDPA 2010.

When you access or use our website, certain technical information may be collected automatically to facilitate the operation, security and administration of our website and digital services. Such information may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, operating system, referring website, pages visited, date and time of access, device information, internet service provider and other technical information relating to your use of our website. Such information may be collected through cookies and/or similar technologies, as further described in Clause 7 of this Notice.

We may use such information to maintain the security, functionality and performance of our website and information technology systems, improve user experience, analyse website usage and trends, and detect, prevent or investigate unauthorised access, cyber incidents or other unlawful activities.

3. DISCRIPTION OF PERSONAL DATA

For the purposes of this Notice, "Personal Data" means any information that relates directly or indirectly to an individual who is identified or identifiable from that information or from that and other information in our possession. Depending on the nature of your interaction with us, the Personal Data that we may collect, use and process includes, but is not limited to:

  • personal identification information, such as your full name, identification card or passport number, nationality, date of birth and gender or gender identifying information;
  • contact information, such as your residential or business address, telephone number and email address to the extent of your emergency contact details;
  • employment and professional information, including your employer, job title, qualifications and work experience;
  • financial and transactional information, including medical history or special needs, insurance information (for claims processing), bank account details and payment information where necessary;
  • thumbprint and biometric data, digital and hand signature, video, video recordings and photographs;
  • technical and security information relating to your use of our website or digital platforms including cookies, IP address etc;
  • information relating to your enquiries, claims, requests, survey answers, feedback, purchases or use of our products and services submitted through the contact form;
  • correspondence, data and records of your communications with us; and
  • any other information that you voluntarily provide to us or that is otherwise necessary for the purposes described in this Notice.

Where permitted or required by law, we may also collect and process sensitive personal data as defined under the PDPA 2010. Where you provide us with the Personal Data of another individual, you represent and warrant that you have obtained the necessary consent from that individual or are otherwise authorised to disclose such Personal Data to us, and that such individual has been informed of the processing of their Personal Data in accordance with this Notice.
